DEA is publishing this rule to establish drug codes for these 26 substances, and to make technical and conforming amendments in accordance with SDAPA.

Effective Date: October 18, 2012. 21 CFR Part 1308 This Final Order is issued by the Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to extend the temporary scheduling of methylone (3,4-methylenedioxy-N-methylcathinone) including its salts, isomers, and salts of isomers whenever the existence of such salts, isomers, and salts of isomers is possible, into Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). The temporary scheduling of methylone is due to expire on October 20, 2012. This document will extend the temporary scheduling of methylone to April 20, 2013, or until rulemaking proceedings are completed, whichever occurs first.

GPO FDSys XML | Text type regulations.gov FR Doc. 2013-08671 RIN Docket No. DEA-373 DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, Drug Enforcement Administration Notice of Intent. 21 CFR Part 1308 The Deputy Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is issuing this notice of intent to temporarily schedule three synthetic cannabinoids into the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) pursuant to the temporary scheduling provisions of 21 U.S.C. 811(h). The substances are 1-pentyl-1 H -indol-3-yl)(2,2,3,3-tetramethylcyclopropyl)methanone (UR-144), 1-(5-fluoro-pentyl)-1 H -indol-3-yl](2,2,3,3-tetramethylcyclopropyl)methanone (5-fluoro-UR-144; XLR11) and N -(1-adamantyl)-1-pentyl-1 H -indazole-3-carboxamide (APINACA, AKB48). This action is based on a finding by the Deputy Administrator that the placement of these synthetic cannabinoids into Schedule I of the CSA is necessary to avoid an imminent hazard to the public safety. Any final order will be published in the Federal Register and may not be issued prior to May 13, 2013. Any final order will impose the administrative, civil, and criminal sanctions and regulatory controls of Schedule I substances under the CSA on the manufacture, distribution, possession, importation, and exportation of these synthetic cannabinoids.

If finalized, this action would impose the regulatory controls and criminal sanctions of Schedule IV on the manufacture, distribution, dispensing, importation, exportation, and possession of lorcaserin and products containing lorcaserin.
