What is the appeal process when a mandatory review request for White House originated information is denied?
(a)
When the Deputy Archivist of the United States receives an appeal, he or she will review the decision to deny the information and consult with the appellate authorities in the agencies having primary subject matter interest in the information.
(b)
NARA will notify the requester in writing of the determination and make available any additional information that has been declassified as a result of the requester's appeal.
(c)
NARA will also notify the requester of the right to appeal denials of access to the Interagency Security Classification Appeals Panel, Attn: Mandatory Review Appeals, c/o Information Security Oversight Office, National Archives and Records Administration, 700 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW., Room 503, Washington, DC 20408.
