Issuance and purpose.
The purpose of this part is to implement the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 as amended (42 U.S.C. 4321-437 0a), in accordance with regulations promulgated by the Council of Environmental Quality (CEQ Regulations, 40 CFR parts 1500-1508 ), and Executive Order 11514, March 5, 1970, as amended by Executive Order 11991, May 24, 1977. This part shall provide guidance to officials of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on the application of the NEPA process to Department activities.
