§ 2653.0-3
Authority.
Section 14(h) of the Act requires the Secretary to withdraw and to convey 2 million acres of unreserved and unappropriated public lands located outside the areas withdrawn by sections 11 and 16 of the Act. The Secretary will convey the land in part as follows:
(a)
Title to existing cemetery sites and historical places to the regional corporations for the regions in which the lands are located;
(c)
Title to the surface estate of lands to the Natives residing in each of the cities of Sitka, Kenai, Juneau, and Kodiak, who have incorporated;
(e)
Title to the regional corporations for lands selected, if any remain, pursuant to section 14(h)(8) of the Act; and
(f)
Title to the subsurface estate to the regional corporations of lands conveyed under paragraphs (b) and (d) of this section and title to the regional corporations to the subsurface estate to those lands not located in a National Wildlife Refuge under paragraph (c) of this section.
