Is your browser ready for school?
LII course offerings take advantage of up-to-date
Web technology. In order to use them, you need:
- a machine with audio capabilities.
We make extensive use of audio tracks; you'll want to hear them.
-
a 256-color display, or better. This
isn't critical, but the graphics and video may look blotchy and strange
if you don't have one.
- an up-to-date browser. Our materials
have been tested with Netscape and Internet Explorer versions 4 and 5.
Earlier versions of those browsers will work for some things, but you may
not be able to play audio or use some of the more advanced features. Recent
browsers from other vendors will probably work if they support Java and Javascript,
and support use of the EMBED tag for plugins.
-
JavaScript and Java. Your browser
has options for enabling and disabling these. Messages telling you that
these are working should appear further down this page.
-
cookies.. A 'cookie' is a data token
stored in your browser; we use it to 'remember' information about
your setup as you move from page to page. This enables us to (for
example) make sure that you get credit for your work, that you see cases
in their properly-edited format. It also keeps unauthorized people from viewing
or using the course content.
- the most recent version of RealPlayer.
This software is free and easy to install. If you don't have it, get
it here.
We can detect some of these things automatically:
Please enable it, then press your browser's 'Reload' or 'Refresh' button.
