I. Moving from This Course to Copyright Issues Posed by Important Internet-Based Activities (and Key Actors)

Our aim in this third block of material and discussion is push our investigation of Internet copyright issues out beyond the types of persons, entities, and activities involved in this course to reach commercial Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and those who use them, commercial web sites, and wide spread Net phenomena.

The copyright questions we'll explore (or continue to explore) include the following:

• On-Line Liability for Infringement by Others (Continuing Our Exploration of Contributory and Vicarious Liability)
• Implied Licenses (E-Mail, Listserv, WWW)
• Linking, Framing and Caching
• "Public" (As in "Public Display" and "Public Performance") and "Publication" on the Internet
