[1] The language of Rule 1.1 attempts to itemize elements of professional competency. The specificity of the Rule is intended to serve both as a guide and objective standard. The ABA proposed standards of legal knowledge, skill, thoroughness, and preparation reasonably necessary are rejected as being too general.
