Amendments

1981—Pub. L. 97–31 substituted “Federal Maritime Commission and the Secretary of Transportation” for “Commission” and inserted “or his” after “its” in three places. For prior transfers of functions of the Commission, meaning the United States Maritime Commission, see Transfer of Functions note below.
1976—Pub. L. 94–273 substituted “by April 1 each year” for “at the beginning of each regular session”.

Transfer of Functions

For transfer of functions of United States Maritime Commission, see Reorg. Plan No. 6 of 1949, Reorg. Plan No. 21 of 1950, and Reorg. Plan No. 7 of 1961, set out under section 1111 of this Appendix.

Reporting of Administered and Oversight Funds

Pub. L. 106–398, § 1 [div. C, title XXXV, § 3506], Oct. 30, 2000, 114 Stat. 1654, 1654A–494, provided that: “The Maritime Administration, in its annual report to the Congress under section 208 of the Merchant Marine Act, 1936 (46 App. U.S.C. 1118), and in its annual budget estimate submitted to the Congress, shall state separately the amount, source, intended use, and nature of any funds (other than funds appropriated to the Administration or to the Secretary of Transportation for use by the Administration) administered, or subject to oversight, by the Administration.”
