19 USC § 2373a - Authorization of appropriations

(a) In general
(1) Authorization
There are authorized to be appropriated to the Secretary of Labor to carry out the Sector Partnership Grant program under section 2373 of this title—
(A) $40,000,000 for fiscal year 2010; and
(B) $4,600,000 for the 6-week period beginning January 1, 2011, and ending February 12, 2011.
(2) Availability of appropriations
Funds appropriated pursuant to this section shall remain available until expended.
(b) Supplement not supplant
Funds appropriated pursuant to this section shall be used to supplement and not supplant other Federal, State, and local public funds expended to support the economic development of local communities.
(c) Administrative costs
The Secretary may retain not more than 5 percent of the funds appropriated pursuant to this section for each fiscal year to administer the Sector Partnership Grant program under section 2373 of this title.

Amendments

2010—Subsec. (a). Pub. L. 111–344amended subsec. (a) generally. Prior to amendment, text read as follows: “There are authorized to be appropriated to the Secretary of Labor $40,000,000 for each of the fiscal years 2009 and 2010, and $10,000,000 for the period beginning October 1, 2010, and ending December 31, 2010, to carry out the Sector Partnership Grant program under section 2373 of this title. Funds appropriated pursuant to this section shall remain available until expended.”
Effective Date of 2010 Amendment

Amendment by Pub. L. 111–344effective Jan. 1, 2011, see section 101(d) ofPub. L. 111–344, set out as a note preceding section 2271 of this title.
Effective and Termination Dates

Except as otherwise provided and subject to certain applicability provisions, section effective upon the expiration of the 90-day period beginning on Feb. 17, 2009, see section 1891 ofPub. L. 111–5, set out as an Effective and Termination Dates of 2009 Amendment note under section 2271 of this title.
Except as otherwise provided, this section and the general amendment of this part not applicable on or after Feb. 13, 2011, and this part to be applied and administered beginning Feb. 13, 2011, as if this section and the general amendment of this part had never been enacted, see section 1893 ofPub. L. 111–5, set out as a Termination Date of 2009 Amendment note preceding section 2271 of this title.
Except as otherwise provided, technical assistance and grants may not be provided under this part after Feb. 12, 2011, see section 285 ofPub. L. 93–618, set out as a Termination Date note preceding section 2271 of this title.
