Beg the question

A logical fallacy in which a particular statement or claim is assumed to be true without any evidence aside from the statement or claim itself.

Often misused to mean "to raise the question".

A proper example of this logical fallacy:

"He is smart because he is intelligent."

An example of an improper usage:

"He was a priest. This begs the question why he was getting married in the first place."
