Diplomatic immunity example

Feeling that diplomatic immunity exempted them from New York City's parking rules, some United Nations diplomats caused quite a fuss when they refused to pay millions of dollars in tickets for their illegally parked cars and unpaid parking meters.  See Parking Ticket Uproar at UN: For Now, Peace Has No Chance, New York Times, 4/11/97.
