On April 1, 2011, several amendments to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act ("PIPEDA") made by the Canadian Anti-Spam Law of 2010 went into effect. Pursuant to Clause 91 of the Canadian Anti-Spam Law of 2010, the remaining provisions of the Law will come into effect on a date to be fixed by the "Governor in Council" (the Governor General, on the advice of the Canadian federal Cabinet).
