Subrogee is someone who acquires rights in place of another (subrogor) by subrogation, usually by paying the other's debts or expenses in connection with the claim to collect the other's claim against the third party. For example, an insurance company often becomes a subrogee after paying an insurance claim, so it has the right to sue the tortfeasor who injured the insuredAnother example is that a guarantor becomes a subrogee after paying off a debt to a creditor and is entitled to assert rights against the debtor in lieu of the creditor.
