Appendix A to Part 155—Specifications for Shore Connection

Item Description Dimension
The flange must be of steel having a flat face, with a gasket of oilproof material, and must be suitable for a service pressure of 6 kg./cm.2 (85 p.s.i.).
The steel materials used must meet the material specifications of standard B16.5, Steel Pipe Flanges and Flanged Fittings of the American National Standards Institute. (See § 154.106 of this chapter.)
1 Outside diameter 215 mm. (8 in.).
2 Inside diameter According to pipe outside diameter.
3 Bolt circle diameter 183 mm. (7 3/16 in.).
4 Slots in flange 6 holes 22 mm. (7/8 in.) in diameter shall be equidistantly placed on a bolt circle of the above diameter, slotted to the flange periphery. The slot width is to be 22 mm. (7/8 in.).
5 Flange thickness 20 mm. (3/4 in.).
6 Bolts and nuts 6, each of 20 mm. (3/4 in.) in diameter and of suitable length.

      The collection of information requirements contained in the July 16, 2013 final rule (78 FR 42596) and approved by the OMB as an amendment to existing collection of information, control number 1625-0060, will be enforced beginning September 10, 2015. The requirements include provisions for VCS certifications, recertifications, periodic operational reviews, approval requests, reviews of operating manuals, failure analyses, operational review letters, and relabeling. These requirements aid the Coast Guard and industry in ensuring industry's regulatory compliance and safe practices in connection with VCSs.
