Private nonprofit organization
Private nonprofit organization means a private nonprofit organization that is a secular or religious organization described in section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and which is exempt from taxation under subtitle A of the Code, has an accounting system and a voluntary board, and practices nondiscrimination in the provision of assistance. A private nonprofit organization does not include a governmental organization, such as a public housing agency or housing finance agency.
