Ratio of debt to equity

Ratio of debt to equity means the ratio which the total indebtedness of the issuing corporation bears to the sum of its money and all its other assets (in an amount equal to adjusted basis for determining gain) less such total indebtedness. For the meaning of the termindebtedness,seeparagraph (e)(1)of this section. See section 279(g) and 1.2796 for rules with respect to the computation of the ratio of debt to equity in regard to an affiliated group of corporations.
