J visa. A non-immigrant visa issued pursuant to 8 U.S.C. 1101(15)(J). A J1 visa is issued to an exchange visitor. A J2 visa is issued to the exchange visitor's accompanying spouse and dependents, if qualified under 214b of the Immigration and Nationality Act, as amended.
