Administrator
Administrator means the Maritime Administrator, Department of Transportation, who is, ex officio, the Director, National Shipping Authority, within the Maritime Administration (MARAD). Pursuant to 49 CFR 1.45(a)(5), the Maritime Administrator is authorized to carry out emergency preparedness functions assigned to the Secretary by Executive Order 12656 (53 FR 47490, November 18, 1988).
