Notwithstanding paragraph (b) of this section, a termination does not occur when the owner (transferor) of the section 987 QBU ceases to exist in a reorganization described in section 381(a)(2) pursuant to which it transfers the section 987 QBU to another corporation (acquiring corporation), except in the following cases:
