Directed open access fishery

Directed open access fishery means that a fishing vessel is target fishing (defined at 660.11) for groundfish and is only declared into a directed open access groundfish gear type or sector as defined in 660.13(d)(4)(iv)(A). In addition to the requirements in subpart F of this part, fishing vessels participating in the directed open access fishery must be registered to a directed open access permit described at 660.25(i) and are also subject to the non-trawl logbook requirement at 660.13(a)(3).
