Transit
Transit means mass transportation by a conveyance that provides regular and continuing general or special transportation to the public, but does not include school bus, charter, or sightseeing transportation. See 49 U.S.C 5302. Transit may occur on or off the general railroad system of transportation. For purposes of this part, the term transit excludes buses and commuter passenger train service.
