Compensatory mitigation

Compensatory mitigation means the restoration (re-establishment or rehabilitation), establishment , enhancement, and/or in certain circumstances preservation of aquatic resources for the purposes of offsetting unavoidable adverse impacts which remain after all appropriate and practicable avoidance and minimization has been achieved.
