(3) For the purposes of this subsection and of subsection (g) of this section— (A) The term “consumer report” has the meaning provided such term in subsection (d) of section 603 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( 15 U.S.C. 1681a(d) ). (B) The term “consumer reporting agency” means— (i) a consumer reporting agency as such term is defined in subsection (f) of section 603 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( 15 U.S.C. 1681a(f) ), or (ii) any person who, for monetary fees, dues, or on a cooperative nonprofit basis, regularly engages in whole or in part in the practice of (I) obtaining credit or other information on consumers for the purpose of furnishing such information to consumer reporting agencies (as defined in clause (i) of this paragraph), or (II) serving as a marketing agent under arrangements enabling third parties to obtain such information from such reporting agencies.
