covered recipient
(A)Except as provided in subparagraph (B), the term “covered recipient” means the following: (i)A physician. (ii)A teaching hospital. (iii)A physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or clinical nurse specialist (as such terms are defined insection 1395x(aa)(5) of this title). (iv)A certified registered nurse anesthetist (as defined insection 1395x(bb)(2) of this title). (v)A certified nurse-midwife (as defined insection 1395x(gg)(2) of this title). (B)Such term does not include a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, certified nurse anesthetist, or certified nurse-midwife who is an employee of the applicable manufacturer that is required to submit information under subsection (a).
