Alabama Code § 16-40A-5 governs classroom instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity within the Alabama public schools.

In 2021, the applicant, a transgender woman, downloaded the app Giggle for Girls (the App), which is marketed as a “digital women-only safe space.” To register, users were required to upload a selfie, which was assessed by third-party AI software to determine gender based on appearance. The applicant was approved and used the App for eight months before being blocked, following a manual review of her selfie by a company employee.

The report features quantitative and qualitative indicators of crimes committed in Ukraine in 2022 on the grounds of homophobia and transphobia taking into account the ongoing war. A total of 77 cases were documented, of which 31 cases were war crimes committed by the Russian occupiers and 2 cases happened to Ukrainian LGBTIQ refugees abroad.
