This legislative decree protects maternity and paternity, and prohibits discrimination on the basis of either. Louisiana Revised Statutes § 51:2231 et seq. Louisiana Commission on Human Rights

Louisiana Revised Statutes Title 51, Chapter 38, § 51:2231 et seq. prohibits age discrimination and breastfeeding discrimination in public accommodations, and authorizes administrative enforcement to the Louisiana Commission on Human Rights. Additionally, this section authorizes parishes and municipalities to create their own local human rights commissions.
