Arizona Revised Statutes § 13-3601 Domestic Violence

Arizona Revised Statutes § 13-3601 defines domestic violence as the commission of specified criminal offenses when committed within certain familial, household, or intimate relationships, including spouses or former spouses, persons with a child in common, pregnant partners, relatives, household members, or persons in a current or former romantic or sexual relationship. The statute authorizes peace officers to arrest individuals based on probable cause, mandates arrest in cases involving physical injury or deadly weapons unless the victim is otherwise protected, and permits the temporary seizure and court-supervised retention of firearms when necessary for safety.
