Child Protection and Adoption Act, Cap. 44A (2010) Grenada

The Child Protection and Adoption Act requires mandatory reporting of suspected child abuse cases by professionals involved in various areas of a child’s development, including education specialists and health care professionals. It also established the Child Protection Authority, which addresses certain child protection matters and regulates foster care and adoption. The Act can also provide support to victims of child abuse. Section 145 established various criminal offenses in connection with the subject matter of the Act and set out maximum penalties of three years of imprisonment and fines of up to EC$ 50,000.
