Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 272 § 30 authorizes the superior court to issue injunctions preventing the dissemination of any visual material that is deemed to be obscene. Section 30D authorizes the superior court to issue injunctions preventing the dissemination of any visual material that depicts or describes a child under the age of eighteen in a state of nudity or engaging in sexual conduct. The statute incorporates the same procedural rules used for injunctions under § 30 and clarifies that such civil injunctions supplement, and do not replace or condition, any related criminal prosecutions available under Massachusetts law.
