Rhode Island General Laws § 11-59-2 makes it illegal to harass or to knowingly and repeatedly follow another person with the intent to place that person in reasonable fear of bodily injury. Under the statute, stalking is a felony, punishable by up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $10,000, or both.
