Ala. Admin. Code r. 335-10-1-.01 - Purpose

The purpose of this Chapter is to protect the public health and welfare and prevent pollution by classifying all water and wastewater treatment plants, water distribution systems, and public wastewater collection systems, and by establishing a program for the certification of the competency of operators to operate such plants and systems. The provisions of this Chapter shall not be applicable to the owner or operator of a water treatment plant, water distribution system, wastewater treatment plant or public wastewater collection system that does not offer service to the public generally.
