2 AAC 39.080 - Discontinuation of long-term care insurance coverage
(a) A benefit
recipient may discontinue participation in the long-term care insurance plan at
any time by submitting a signed, written request to the administrator. If the
request is received or postmarked on or before the 15th day of a month, the
administrator will stop premium payments in that month. If the request is
received or postmarked after the 15th day of a month, premiums will be stopped
no later than the month following the date of receipt or postmark. Coverage
ends on the last day of the month after the month in which the last premium is
deducted.
(b) A person who is
paying premiums directly to the insurance carrier may discontinue participation
in the long-term care insurance plan at any time by submitting a signed,
written request to the insurance carrier. Coverage ends on the last day of the
month for which the last premium was paid.
(c) A person who has elected continued
coverage and who then discontinues coverage may not reapply for the
coverage.
