7 AAC 100.302 - Medicaid eligibility for pregnant women
(a) To be eligible
for Medicaid under
7
AAC 100.300(a), a woman must
(1) be pregnant as verified in accordance
with 7 AAC 100.124(e);
and
(2) have monthly household
income that does not exceed the appropriate income level in
AS
47.07.020(b)(14).
(b) To determine income
eligibility, the following individuals who are living with the pregnant woman
must be included in the household:
(1) a
spouse of the pregnant woman;
(2) a
child of the pregnant woman;
(3) a
parent of the pregnant woman, if the pregnant woman is under 21 years of
age;
(4) the unborn child of the
pregnant woman, or unborn children if a multiple pregnancy is verified, as if
the child were born.
(c)
The father of the unborn child is not included in the household unless the
father is the spouse of the pregnant woman.
(d) A pregnant woman eligible under this
section who is applying only for herself is not required to meet the medical
support assignment requirements in
7
AAC 100.040 or medical support cooperation
requirements in
7
AAC 100.042.
(e) Once the department has determined that a
pregnant woman is eligible for Medicaid under this section, and if the pregnant
woman remains a resident of the state, the pregnant woman is covered through
the entire pregnancy without regard to any change in income that may
occur.
