7 AAC 100.306 - Medicaid eligibility for newborns
(a) A child born to
a woman who was eligible for and receiving Medicaid in the month of delivery,
including retroactive eligibility determined under

AAC 100.072, is eligible for Medicaid under
7
AAC 100.002(a) (5) and this section
without application. Without regard to any changes in household income that may
occur, eligibility continues until the end of the month in which the child
turns one year of age, if
(1) the child
continues to live in the birth mother's household; and
(2) both mother and child remain residents of
the state.
(b) A child
born to an alien receiving coverage for an emergency medical condition under
7
AAC 100.700 is eligible for Medicaid under this
section.
(c) A child eligible under
this section is considered to have met all of the same Medicaid eligibility
requirements imposed on the mother, including citizenship and Social Security
number requirements, until the child's eligibility ends under (a) of this
section. For Medicaid coverage after the child's eligibility under this section
ends, the child must submit a new Medicaid application or a request to be added
to an ongoing Medicaid household. To be eligible, the child must meet all
eligibility requirements of the category for which the child is
applying.
