8 AAC 61.1040 - Additional temporary labor camp standards
(a)
29 C.F.R.
1910.142(b)(2), as amended, is
revised to read: "Each room used for sleeping purposes shall contain at least 60
square feet of floor space for each occupant. At least a 7-foot ceiling shall be
provided."
(b) Notwithstanding (a) of
this section, in temporary labor camps that are occupied for a period of
occupancy of no more than 60 consecutive days per year, sleeping rooms shall
contain at least 50 square feet of floor space for each occupant. A period of
occupancy begins with the first day of habitation in the camp and ends 60 days
later regardless of intermittent periods of closure or vacancy. At least 60 days
must elapse between periods of occupancy in successive calendar years in order to
utilize the 50-square-foot exception available under this subsection.
