(a) This article establishes standards for developing and implementing administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the security, confidentiality, and integrity of nonpublic personal information, pursuant to California Insurance Code Section 791 and sections 501,505(b), and 507, codified at 15 U.S.C. 6801, 6805(b) and 6807, of GLBA.

(b) The actions and procedures described in sections2689.16, 2689.17,2689.18, and 2689.19 are examples of methods of implementation of the requirements of sections 2689.14 and 2689.15. These examples are non-exclusive illustrations of actions and procedures that licensees may follow to implement sections 2689.14 and 2689.15 of these regulations.
