Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 13, § 1959 - Exhaust Emission Standards and Test Procedures-1978 Model Medium-Duty Vehicles
(a) The exhaust
emissions from new 1978 medium-duty vehicles having an engine displacement of
50 cubic inches or greater subject to registration and sold and registered in
this state, shall not exceed:

(b)
The test procedures for determining compliance with these standards are set
forth in "California Exhaust Emission Standards and Test Procedures for 1975
Through 1978 Model Passenger Cars, Light-Duty Trucks, and Medium-Duty
Vehicles," adopted by the State Board February 19, 1975, as last amended June
8, 1977.
(c) This regulation shall
remain in effect until December 31, 1983, and as of that date is repealed
unless a later regulation deletes or extends that date. Notwithstanding the
repeal or expiration of this regulation on December 31, 1983, the provisions of
the regulation as they existed prior to such repeal or expiration shall
continue to be operative and effective for those events occurring prior to the
repeal or expiration.
