Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 13, § 226.26 - Registration Requirements
The Interstate Carrier Program partner shall be responsible for requiring its designated employee to adhere to the following:
(a) All appropriate DMV data received is printed on the
day the transaction is completed.
(b) The Interstate Carrier Program partner shall submit a request to
the department to cancel any International Registration Plan vehicle registration documents improperly issued on the same day the transaction was
processed.
(c) All required department International Registration Plan vehicle registration documents and
supporting paper documentation is sent to the department by the next business day via "trackable" mail at the Interstate Carrier Program partner's
expense.
(d) All voided or damaged copies of International Registration Plan vehicle registration
documents and supporting paper documentation shall be shredded and made not useable for its intended purpose no later than the close of the business
day the documents were printed.
(e) All registration documents lost in the mail shall be reconstructed
within 30 calendar days from the date of completion by the Interstate Carrier Program partner.
