Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 13, § 228.10 - Amendment of Application
(a) Within ten (10) days of any change to the contact information or the name of the manufacturer provided on the
Application for a Permit to Deploy Autonomous Vehicles on Public Streets or Application for a Permit to Deploy Driverless Autonomous Vehicles on
Public Streets, a manufacturer shall notify the department in writing on the manufacturer's letterhead of the change, including changes in contact
names, telephone numbers, or mailing address.
(b) A manufacturer shall submit an amended application for
public deployment prior to implementing changes that:
(1) Make the vehicle capable of operation at a SAE
International level that is different than and/or in addition to the level in the approved permit.
(2)
Make the vehicle capable of operation on a roadway type that is different than and/or in addition to those in the approved permit.
(3) Increase the maximum speed of the vehicle by more than 15 miles per hour.
(4) Make the vehicle capable of operation in geographic areas different than and/or in addition to those in the
approved permit.
(5) Remove any commonly-occurring or restricted conditions that were identified on the
approved permit.
(c) A manufacturer shall not deploy vehicles with the changes specified in
this section until the amended application has been approved by the department.
