Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 15, § 3054.1 - Vegetarian Diet Program
(a)
Vegetarian meals shall be available at all institutions upon request for
incarcerated persons with any religious, personal, or ethical dietary
need.
(b) Incarcerated persons may
request participation in the Vegetarian Diet Program in accordance with Title
15, section
3054.3.
(c) Participating incarcerated persons shall
be provided with an approved vegetarian protein alternative(s). Vegetarian
meals contain plant-based foods and may include dairy, eggs, and seafood. On
days seafood will be served as the vegetarian alternative, a non-seafood
alternative will be offered.
(d)
All institutions shall adhere to standardized departmental vegetarian diet
menus and approved procedures for procuring and serving vegetarian
meals.
