Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 15, § 3054.4 - Religious Meat Alternate Program
(a) A
Religious Meat Alternate (RMA) Program shall be available at all institutions
for incarcerated persons with a religious dietary need that cannot be met by
another RPED option or by the mainline diet.
(b) Incarcerated persons may request
participation in the RMA Diet Program in accordance with Title 15, section
3054.6.
(c) Participating incarcerated persons shall
be provided a halal-certified meat to be substituted at the dinner meal when
meat is served.
(d) All
institutions shall adhere to standardized departmental RMA diet menus, and
approved procedures for purchasing, preparing, and serving certified halal
meats, as approved by the Departmental Food Administrator.
(e) A Chaplain designated by the RRC shall
annually review each institution's processes for procuring, storing, and
distributing RMA program meals and shall provide a completed CDCR Form 3058
(Rev. 07/24), Religious Meat Alternate (RMA) Food Distribution Annual Review,
which is incorporated by reference, for review by the Correctional Food
Manager.
