Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 22, § 71633 - Morgue
(a) Hospitals with a
licensed bed capacity of 50 or more shall maintain a well ventilated morgue with
autopsy facilities, unless adequate morgue and autopsy facilities are available in
the local community.
(b) Hospitals with
a licensed bed capacity of 200 or more shall maintain a well ventilated morgue with
autopsy facilities.
(c) Refrigerated
compartments shall be maintained if human remains are held unembalmed. The air
temperature shall not be higher than 7°C (45°F).
