Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 22, § 77089 - Affiliation with General Acute Care Hospitals
(a) All facilities shall have a current
written agreement for medical services with one or more general acute care
hospitals and shall maintain a current copy of such agreements for review by
the Department. The agreements shall include, but not be limited to:
(1) Whether the general acute care hospital
agrees to medically screen and conduct physical examinations of patients for
admission to the psychiatric health facility and the procedure by which such
screening and examination will be provided.
(2) The procedure for patient transfer from
the psychiatric health facility to the hospital for inpatient medical or
psychiatric care.
(3) The
availability of medical services for patients of the psychiatric health
facility, and the procedure by which such service will be provided.
(4) The specific means by which patients who
require such medical services will be transported to the hospital or medical
facility.
