Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 5, § 43133 - Request for Participation
Each President shall develop procedures for requesting participation in the reduced worktime program which include, as a minimum, the following:
(a) The employee shall
submit a request for participation in the reduced worktime program to the
President in writing by the established deadline;
(b) Once the President has received a timely
request for participation, the President shall issue to the employee general
written information concerning the effect of participation on employment
status, compensation and benefits, including health and retirement
benefits;
(c) If the President
approves the request for participation, the employee shall be notified in
writing with a statement of the anticipated effect on the employee's status and
pay and with any other pertinent information regarding program participation.
The employee shall sign and return to the President a copy of the notification
as evidence that he or she has received it and has read and understands the
effect of participation;
(d) If the
request for participation is denied, the President shall notify the employee in
writing of the reason for denial.
