1 CCR 301-25-26.0 - Handrail

26.1 For Type A, B, C, and D buses an assist handrail not less than 20 inches in length designed to provide maximum loading assistance, shall be provided in an unobstructed location inside the service door.
26.2 At least one handrail shall be installed inside the service door. The handrail shall be a minimum of 1-inch in diameter and be constructed from corrosion-resistant material(s). The handrail(s) shall assist passengers during entry or exit and shall be designed to prevent entanglement, as evidenced by the passing of the NHTSA String and Nut Test.
26.3 The handrail may be offered in a color provided by and applied by the manufacturer.
