4 CCR 748-1.5 - Examination Requirement
The purpose of this Rule is to clarify the examination requirement set forth in section 12-305-107(1)(c), C.R.S.
A. An applicant is eligible for certification by examination only if the applicant:
1. Has passed the national examination approved by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or its
successor association;
2. Has passed an examination that, in the Director's determination, is
substantially equivalent to the examination approved by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or its successor association, subject to the
requirements of paragraph (B) of this Rule; or
3. Holds a current Certificate of Clinical Competence
(CCC), granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or its successor association, in speech-language pathology.
B. An applicant seeking certification under subparagraph (A)(2) of this Rule bears the burden of proving to the
Director that the examination is substantially equivalent to the examination approved by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or its
successor association.
