Conn. Agencies Regs. § 10-145d-516 - Initial educator certificate requirements
To receive an initial educator certificate for trade-related subjects in vocational-technical schools an applicant shall present evidence of meeting the following requirements:
(a) Holds a high school diploma or its
equivalent;
(b) Has completed two
years of approved post-secondary education with a minimum of 30 semester hours
of credit in technical subjects such as mathematics, science, drafting or
design;
(c) Has completed three
years of approved business or industrial experience;
(d) Has completed a minimum of six semester
hours of credit teaching vocational and industrial education; and
(e) A course of study in special education
comprised of not fewer than 36 clock hours, which shall include study in
understanding the growth and development of exceptional children, including
handicapped and gifted and talented children and children who may require
special education, and methods for identifying, planning for and working
effectively with special-needs children in the regular classroom.
