Conn. Agencies Regs. § 26-40d-1 - Taking, transfer and possession of threatened or endangered fish species
(a) The
Commissioner may issue permits for the taking, as defined in section
26-304 of
the Connecticut General Statutes, or delivery of any species determined to be
threatened or endangered as listed in sections
26-306-4
and
26-306-5
of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies, for scientific, educational,
biological or zoological purposes and for purposes of propagation for
conservation of the species as defined in section
26-304 of
the Connecticut General Statutes.
(b) A permit issued by the Commissioner
pursuant to subsection (a) of this section shall be issued for a term
established by the Commissioner and shall not be transferable.
(c) The Commissioner may renew a permit
issued by the Commissioner pursuant to subsection (a) of this section upon
receipt of a request for renewal on or before 30 calendar days preceding
expiration of such permit.
(d) The
Commissioner may determine the species, life stages, number of specimens, the
area, method and period of taking, location and manner of display, confinement,
storage, or propagation of specimens, and location, timing and method of
disposition of any or all specimens under any permit issued by the Commissioner
pursuant to subsection (a) of this section.
(e) Each permittee shall report annually to
the Commissioner on or before January thirty-first, information on the current
status of specimens, disposition of specimens and any other information as may
be required under a permit issued by the Commissioner pursuant to subsection
(a) of this section.
(f) Each
permittee shall submit a final report including results of scientific studies,
disposition of specimens and any other information as may be required under a
permit issued by the Commissioner pursuant to subsection (a) of this section on
or before thirty days following expiration of a permit issued by the
Commissioner pursuant to subsection (a) of this section.
