Conn. Agencies Regs. § 26-67e-11 - Transportation and temporary holding requirements
(a)
Transportation. A raptor shall be transported within an enclosure that provides
protection from extreme temperatures, wind and excessive disturbance, and
equipped with one perch as described in section
26-67e-9(f)
of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies. The enclosure shall be at
least three inches taller than the height of the bird while perched, shall
allow for easy entry and removal to minimize stress, and have adequate
ventilation. The raptor shall be kept in this temporary enclosure for a period
not more than 30 days.
(b)
Temporary Holding. A raptor may be temporarily held at an offsite location in
an enclosure constructed of wood or sturdy plastic for a period not more than
30 consecutive days. The enclosure shall have minimum dimensions of five feet
by four feet by four feet; have at least one perch as described in section
26-67e-9(f)
of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies; adequate ventilation; and
protect the raptor from extreme temperatures, excessive disturbance, wind,
domestic animals and predators.
