Conn. Agencies Regs. § 29-276b-2 - Criteria for laboratory facilities for the testing of construction materials and structural members or assemblies
(a) Each laboratory
operated by any person, firm or corporation licensed under the provisions of
Chapter 391 where the testing of construction materials and structural members
or assemblies is conducted shall be under the supervisory control of a
qualified professional engineer licensed in accordance with the provisions of
Chapter 391 of the Connecticut General Statutes.
(b) Each laboratory operated by any person,
firm or corporation licensed under the provisions of Chapter 391 where the
testing of construction materials and structural members or assemblies is
conducted shall utilize facilities, equipment and procedures which meet
standards and methods for testing approved by the American Society for Testing
and Materials, the American National Standards Institute, or any other
nationally recognized accreditation program for the testing of construction
materials and structural members or assemblies.
(c) The facilities of and the equipment
utilized in each laboratory operated by any person, firm or corporation
licensed under the provisions of Chapter 391 where the testing of construction
materials and structural members or assemblies is conducted shall be inspected
annually by the supervising professional engineer who shall determine that the
condition of both the facilities and the equipment is in conformance with the
requirements of the applicable standards and that the equipment is in
calibration. The supervising professional engineer shall maintain records of
the results of these inspections and shall provide the records to the Board of
Examiners for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors of the Department of
Consumer Protection upon the Board's request.
